'MOBILE NEWS' TALKS ABOUT SIFAR GROUP AND THE REPAIR BUSINESS

The interview with the founding members of Sifar Group, published in one of the major magazines in the mobile world, to better understand the company and its evolutions in the market of today and tomorrow.

Face to face with Sifar, quality and experience in the world of spare parts


A return to the past, to meet, shake hands and talk about projects. An unmissable opportunity offered by one of the most important world trade fairs in the mobile world. Precisely with the aim of meeting old and new customers, Sifar has chosen to participate in MWC 2022, exhibiting for the first time at the Barcelona fair, distinguishing itself among the few Italian companies present among the lively Catalan pavilions. Here we met Andrea and Giovanni Sibilla, founders of Sifar, a leading company in the sector of components and spare parts for the repair of mobile devices, smartphones and tablets.

How was this experience?
It is the first fair since 2019, we have seen a good participation of the international public and, above all, a great desire for recovery. You can read it clearly in people's eyes: sitting down, talking about projects, getting to know each other in person is quite another thing than talking to each other through a call in front of the computer. Among other things, after two years of hiatus, the MWC was an opportunity to meet some new customers that we had not yet had the opportunity to meet in person. Overall we are very pleased to have believed in it and to have participated.

What are the reasons that brought you here for the first time?
In Italy we are a highly recognized brand in the spare parts sector, where we have been operating for many years and cover 90% of the devices on the market. We are authorized distributors of original Asus, Huawei, Oppo, Samsung and Wiko spare parts for out-of-warranty repairs and we manage over 20.000 references supplying all of Italy, from North to South. We closed 2021 with 70.000 shipments, our record. Last year we also achieved the best turnover ever, with double-digit growth.

Basically, is it an all-Italian business?
To tell the truth, we have already started developing a project for abroad with which we would like to reproduce the same winning system that has given us important commercial satisfaction in Italy.

What is your strength?
Experience gained, excellent knowledge of the market and customer needs, a proven B2B platform www.sifar.it integrated effectively with internal logistics, which over the years we have increasingly optimized, depth of range and timing of order fulfillment, we deliver the goods within 24 hours, or at most 48 in the islands. And then the programming, which has made us grow even in the most complicated periods, such as during the lockdowns due to the pandemic. Our business has never stopped and we have always ensured deliveries to customers. But there's more: Sifar offers an accurate after-sales service, supporting the more than two thousand service centers in solving technical problems, also providing advice on new products and updates. In short, we ensure all-round support for repairers. Finally, the quality of the product: our spare parts, subjected to various quality tests, come from reliable partners with whom we have a consolidated relationship over time. In a market like ours, which is often messy and not always crystalline, it is quality that sets us apart.

With such short delivery times you relieve your customers of complex warehouse management
In reality, we are their warehouse. For most of the structures that offer repairs it would be impossible to keep on site all the parts that are needed for their daily activity, especially in a very large and fast market, in which having to structure a warehouse would be very complex and expensive.

Let's go back abroad: where would you like to extend your business?
We want to start with the closest countries and in any case of reference. The spare parts sector is very similar throughout Europe, although Spain, France and Germany are the countries of primary interest. We will proceed step by step and step by step, knowing that the project is ambitious and will have to be built and shaped over time. In recent years we have developed a logistics capable of managing orders and shipments in the main European cities with the average delivery times with which we already operate in Italy. Right here in Barcelona we have gathered a lot of interest and important contacts.

There is great attention to the refurbished smartphone market
It is a segment that represents a good business opportunity for us, because refurbished often require the replacement of various parts, for example: LCDs, aesthetic parts, batteries, etc. and the more quality the spare parts are, the better customers will be supported in the service. Among other things, the supply of spare parts for devices that are no longer new and that require both an aesthetic and technical facelift, follows the virtuous path of sustainability, prevents devices still capable of functioning from ending up in landfills so as to drastically reduce the impact on the environment. A theme to which our society has always paid a lot of attention.

In your experience, which are the most requested spare parts?
Those related to solve problems due to accidental damage, mainly LCD and cosmetic parts. Then followed by batteries, cameras and charging connectors.

What is Sifar's typical customer?
We are partners of over two thousand customers, our typical customer is the assistance center and telephony dealer. For some years, however, we have been carrying out a project with organized distribution companies and telephone operators who, to expand the offer to their customers, have included the repair service.
